Program Coordinator
General Description
Assume the responsibility for the realization of the goals of Continuing Education non-credit programs offered by Continuing Education and Workforce Development. Programs include adult professional development and personal enrichment programs, senior scholars and youth programs, and online partnerships. Lead the development, scheduling, and logistics of program offerings, recruit instructors, and work with vendors as required. Monitor student participation and progress. Provide leadership with appropriate information and reports.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and maintaining continuing education programs that meet the demand of local businesses and may result in the attainment of industry-valued credentials for students.
Plan and schedule course offerings of existing and new Continuing Education programs.
Manage the daily operations of program offerings and student recruitment.
Manage program offerings and student registration in College

Manage instructor agreements and payroll information.
Assist with marketing and outreach initiatives of the department. Activities include, but not limited to, development of non-credit brochure and print materials, press releases, management of social media postings and web pages, and email blasts using constant contact or the College

Assist in recruitment and supervision of instructors for department programs.
Identifies areas for improvement within the operations and documentation process of the department and develop and implement solutions.
Assist with the preparation and submittal of payroll information.
Assist with the collection and analysis of data including course evaluations and program participant comments.
At all times exercise professionalism and confidentiality with staff and students.
Provide exceptional customer service to current and potential students.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years related business/higher education experience, preferably in a Continuing Education/training/professional development environment with registration experience.
Competencies and Skills Required
Interpersonal, organization and communication skills required.
Proficiency with MS office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with a diverse external community and a diverse campus community.
Valid driver’s license and access to an automobile.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and courteously with students, the general public, faculty, and other staff members.
Must be a “quick study” in order to quickly grasp knowledge of policies and procedures relating to every aspect of student service that a prospective or current student may utilize.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Some travel required.
