Overview of Job
A physical education (PE) teacher is responsible for instructing students on physical fitness, sports, and other physical activities, designing lesson plans to help students develop their physical abilities like strength, endurance, coordination, and flexibility, while fostering a positive environment that encourages participation and healthy lifestyle habits; essentially, they guide students in learning how to move their bodies effectively and safely while promoting overall physical well-being.
Experience /Qualifications
Must have a bachelor's degree in physical education, a state teaching license with a physical education endorsement, and strong communication and organizational skills; experience in coaching or playing sports is beneficial
Compensation
Part-Time Hourly Wage: $25

Key Responsibilities
A physical education (PE) teacher's primary duties include designing and delivering engaging PE lessons, promoting physical fitness and teamwork through various activities, assessing student performance, providing constructive feedback, organizing extracurricular sports, and ensuring a positive learning environment while staying updated on current PE trends and best practices
Curriculum Development:
Designing comprehensive PE lesson plans that align with educational standards, incorporating a diverse range of activities to cater to different student abilities.

Instruction and Delivery:
Teaching students fundamental movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness concepts through active participation and clear demonstrations.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Regularly assessing student progress through observation, participation, and skill performance, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
Motivation and Engagement:
Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging participation, and motivating students to reach their potential.
Health Education:
Integrating lessons on nutrition, personal hygiene, and the benefits of physical activity into the PE curriculum.
