Toddler Classroom Teacher I: Early Head Start Head Start is seeking a creative, organized individual to join our teaching team in meeting the physical, cognitive, and social/emotional needs of toddlers enrolled in the Early Head Start center-based program.
As a Classroom Teacher I you will: Work with the Classroom Teacher II to develop, coordinate, and implement daily lesson plans, classroom activities, and outreach events. Guide children as they learn new skills including feeding, toileting, and self-care. Foster a welcoming and safe learning environment that promotes safe exploration for children and encourages parents to be active participants in their child’s education. Assist in supervision of classroom teaching staff, volunteers, and support management in ensuring compliance with day care licensing and Head Start Performance Standards. This is a year-round position.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or a related field with a focus on infant and toddler development; one year of experience in an early childhood program; valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Pay Range Guide:
Standard Start Rate - education and experience meet job requirements
Advanced Start Rate - education and experience exceed job requirements (subject to approval)
Pay Range: $18.79 - $21.61 per hour
