Biology Teacher
Oneonta City School District has the following vacancy for the 2024-25 school year: Biology Teacher
Qualified candidates will have a valid NYS Certification in Biology. A Biology Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive biology instruction to high school or middle school students. This role involves planning and implementing a curriculum that covers a range of topics, including cellular biology, genetics, ecology, evolution, and human anatomy. The teacher designs lesson plans, conducts lab experiments, and utilizes various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and foster a passion for science.
Responsibilities include assessing student progress, providing feedback, and preparing students for standardized tests and advanced coursework. The Biology Teacher collaborates with other educators and participates in professional development to stay current with educational best practices. Strong communication skills, patience, and enthusiasm for science are essential. A bachelor's degree in biology or a related field is required, along with a teaching certification. Experience in a classroom setting and a commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment are also important for success in this role.
