New Hope Academy, an alternative school that provides private education, is seeking a School Counselor to work Full-Time with Benefits. Candidates who are interested should have a strong counseling background. Daily counseling for students in grades 6-12 is one-on-one.

Job Type: Full-time

Duties:

  • Provide individual counseling to students on various issues such as academic performance, personal development, and career planning.
  • Assess students' needs and develop appropriate counseling plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support students' academic and emotional well-being.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and areas of improvement.
  • Implement strategies to address behavioral issues and promote positive behavior among students.
  • Assist students in developing coping skills and resilience to overcome challenges.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Collaborate with community resources to provide additional support for students.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Conflict management skills to effectively resolve conflicts among students or between students and staff.
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity counseling to support students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with child welfare policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with children of all ages, from elementary to high school.
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques to address disciplinary issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with child protective services regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Background in social work is a plus.

Salary: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
