Chair of General Education and Developmental Studies
The Chair of the General Education and Developmental Studies Department administers the courses and programs in the department. The Chair performs a critical role in planning, managing, and supervising curriculum and instruction; budgeting; faculty development and evaluation; interfacing with regulatory agencies; and developing external financial and physical resources. Provide leadership to in matters of planning and revision, course scheduling, employee selection and evaluation, professional development, budget development and monitoring, program approval by external agencies, and special projects. The Chair reports to the Dean of Academic and Technical Programs. Other duties as assigned. Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and educational credentials to teach a discipline in the department. Demonstrated understanding of, and a commitment to, the two-year college mission and purpose, teaching and learning, high academic standards, and student success. Knowledge of state and federal trends, issues, and regulations affecting post-secondary education. Need to have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
