Physical Plant Department

Duties and responsibilities of the position include the administration of the fast-paced Physical Plant Office, Supply Center, Receiving Bay and other tasks assigned by the Director. The Administrative Assistant assists the Director in various duties as needed to ensure the effective operations of the Physical Plant Department including but not limited to the operation of the office, facility maintenance, construction, housekeeping, and grounds maintenance. The Administrative Assistant III reports directly to the Director of Physical Plant. General business, management, construction, or a related field is preferred although other relevant work experience is required. Bachelor’s degree in general business, management, construction, or a related field is preferred.  Other relevant work experience may be considered as an equivalent. Prior experience working in the office environment of the Physical Plant department is preferred. Minimum of three years general office experience is required. Proficient with Microsoft Office computer skills and able to adapt to other programs required such as Work Order Management systems, etc. High level of professionalism.  Effective verbal and written communication skills.  Highly proficient organizing and planning skills. Ability to perform moderate physical work which may involve several hours of work while standing and lifting. Some travel required. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Strong customer service and teamwork orientation.
