Hope Center for Women and Children (full-time and part-time)

Hope Ministries’ Hope Center for Women and Children is a life-recovery program offering hope and help to homeless women and children in central Iowa. The Center, located in Des Moines, offers both short term and long-term recovery options, providing women with education, case management and personal mentoring in a faith-based environment.

Our Program Services Coordinators (PSCs) play a key role, teaching and modeling important life skills to the vulnerable women and children we serve. We are looking for motivated, compassionate individuals who want to make a difference each and every day.

Our PSCs:

• Teach and model appropriate strategies and behaviors, including relationships, parenting, problem solving, conflict resolution, and emotional wellness.
• Work to maintain an orderly, emotionally safe, and physically secure facility, communicating issues that require further attention from Facilities Management staff.
• Communicate with other Hope Center staff members through the use of written client logs, charts, and incident reports to properly monitor issues concerning our clients.
• Actively participate in the ongoing spiritual growth and Christian instruction of those we serve at the Hope Center.

We are looking for people who:

• Are in agreement with Hope Ministries’ Statement of Faith, Statement of Purpose, and Core Values (see links).
• Are currently pursuing an active, growing Christian walk in their own lives.
• Have a deep desire for ministering to others and leading them into spiritual maturity.
• Have a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license and are able to lift 50 pounds.

Note: due to the bonafide occupational requirements (BFOQ) of this position, only female applicants will be considered.
