This is a professional position responsible for the leadership of Florida Gateway College’s Child Care Center. This is a Part-time position working Monday thru Friday for 24 hours per week. An employee in this position manages the planning, organizing, staffing, coordinating, reporting, and budgeting of the child care center. The Coordinator of Child Care is responsible for the development, recommendation, and administration of policies, procedures and processes in support of center operations.

Knowledge of Supervisory principles; Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes; Budgeting principles and practices; Early childhood development principles and practices; Project management principles; Records maintenance principles and practices. Knowledge of college policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral form. Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals. Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of clientele and/or college administration. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information. Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment.

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education or related field preferred. Experience in teaching or a child care center may be substituted for degree. Special consideration given for CPR certified applicants. Special consideration given to applicants who have completed DCF training. Applicant must be 18 years or older, 21 preferred. Applicant must complete DCF approved background checks. SALARY: $20.00 per hour
