The Academic Systems Specialist supports the maintenance of data relating to curriculum and faculty in automated college-wide systems; extracts, analyzes, validates and/or refines data; prepares reports; provides training; coordinates, maintains, and monitors college-wide datasets; coordinates information; maintains and updates college-wide files and printed material; and serves as a resource. The Academic Services Specialist also performs customary clerical and technical duties in support of the business or College operations and management of an office. Examples may include a Bachelor’s Degree along with two years of related experience; Associate’s Degree and four years related work experience or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position.
Special Knowledge, Skills or Abilities: Knowledge of processes within higher education or similar organizations, strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of automated institutional databases and advances in information technology. Ability to extract data and provide analyses. Ability to work effectively with college faculty and administrators, organizational skills. Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot.
