Questar III BOCES is currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic leader with a proven track record of success to provide leadership for our agency as an Associate Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Accountability. This is a senior leadership position reporting to the District Superintendent. This position assists the District Superintendent in providing leadership in the areas Curriculum, Instruction and Accountability in accordance with the Questar III Board Goals and Questar III Organizational Priorities aligned with our Mission, Vision, and The Leading Edge, our Framework for Goal Setting, Innovation and Growth.

The Associate Superintendent position will provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, development, implementation, direction, and evaluation of the Questar III instruction and accountability practices. The position will ensure that Questar education programs are aligned to state standards and frameworks and to instructional practices that yield the highest standards of student achievement and instructional excellence. The position requires strong leadership skills, especially in working in large educational systems; knowledge and experience in instructional leadership and research-based pedagogy; excellent verbal and written communication skills; innovative, flexible, and creative in problem-solving and program development.

Qualified candidates should have the following characteristics:

• Possess strong leadership skills that will foster a professional learning environment among direct reports and instructional staff.
• Put students first in all decision making by providing future focused instructional programs and excellent shared services.
• Have a strong curricular, instructional and data background with experience in using data in decision-making, curriculum alignment, program evaluation, and accountability.
• Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of NYS Standards, Frameworks, state of the art instructional practices and latest research on what works to ensure student success.
• Demonstrate outstanding people skills that will energize and engage the school community and stakeholders in support of the BOCES instructional programs.
• Possess a successful track record as a School District Administrator overseeing academic programs.
• Have New York State School District (SDA or SDL) certification or have the ability to become certified in NYS.
